Historical Restoration The Ouachita Grand Plaza and Richland Centre projects were both restoration and renovations of historic school buildings into elderly housing. Restoration of the exteriors of theses buildings included cleaning, repairing damage back to its original condition as possible, restoring and repairing all existing windows, and waterproofing. On the interior at Ouachita Grand Plaza complete renovation was required with all new finishes due to the existing condition of the building but conditions at Richland Centre were such that the plaster walls could be repaired and painted and the terrazzo floor polished back to its original finish. In each of these projects classrooms were divided in half with a wall and two apartments formed out of each classroom. Also, at Richland Centre apartments were built two stories high around the interior of the gymnasium on the exterior walls creating a sky lit atrium in the middle. Back to Portfolio Main |
