Walter D. Meredith’s career began as a draftsman working for H.H. Land, Architect, Inc. for twelve years. During this time he worked full time and attended Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe from which he received a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Building Construction, and nine hours in Marketing. Walter was fortunate enough to work in the period where a college degree and eight years experience under a registered architect practicing architecture would allow a person to take the qualifying exam, which he began in 1977.

October 10, 1978 to June 30, 1984
Architecture Plus, a large firm of approximately seventy people, offered Walter a position which was accepted, and there he continued the quest for getting an architect’s license and passed both the qualifying and professional exam while with this company. During this time he served as project manager and project architect for Dillard’s Department Stores. The six and one half years with Architecture Plus exposed Walter Meredith not only to larger sized commercial projects but also allowed the use of his business management and marketing skills.

July 1, 1984 to Present
After gaining much experience with a larger firm Walter set out on his on and formed Space Planners Architects, Inc., and has been operating as principal of that firm ever since. He has overseen his firm’s many successful projects over the years since the inception of Space Planners. In the community where he works Walter has gained a positive reputation as an architect as well as respect from his peers.
